Alaïa × Steidl

Betty Lago in Alaïa, by David Seidner.

Alaïa dresses Tina Turner in The Adirondack Mountains in a beautiful
moment immortalized by Bruce Weber.
This incredible volume
is the result of the collaboration of fashion genius Azzedine Alaïa, author Michael Tournier, and legendary artists such as Julian Schnabel, Martine Barrat and Bruce Weber. It was first printed by storied German publishing house Steidl in 1987. The rare book offers a peek into the world of the École des Beaux-Arts-trained sculptor who left Tunisia to completely reshape Parisian Haute Couture. The covetable 240-page, eight-pound volume was released in a glassine dust jacket with gold lettering and housed in an intricately illustrated slipcase, and today easily sells for $1,000 amongst collectors.
